As the saying goes, there are plenty of fish in the sea and there are nearly as many different fishing techniques. Each form of fishing requires different types of fishing gear. Fly fishing, trolling and float fishing are three of the most popular methods of fishing and each requires a set of fishing gear that is different from the other. EverythingFishingGear understands that each fisherman is different, which is why we aim to provide a large selection of fishing gear to suite the needs of all types of fishers.
Fly fishing is a method of fishing unlike any other and the gear needed for a day of fly fishing is no exception. Unlike conventional fishing rods, fly fishing rods are longer, more flexible and have little to no handle. The lure used by fly fishermen is also different than that used by other fishers. Instead of using fishing bait such as worms and spinners, fly fishers use artificial flies as their tackle. Another unique piece of fly fishing gear are long, suspender-like waders that fly fishermen wear in order to keep their body dry while standing in the water.
Like fly fishing, trolling is another fishing method that requires it’s own specific fishing gear. Like any form of fishing, trolling requires the use of a rod and reel, although the type of rod and reel you choose will depend greatly on where you are fishing and the type of fish you want to catch. If trolling in saltwater, you’ll want to be sure to select a fishing rod and reel that won’t corrode due to the salt content of the water. If you are trolling for larger fish, you’ll want to be sure to select a heavier line so that you won’t have to worry about the line snapping due to the tension the fish’s weight will cause. Other gear that comes into play when trolling are sinkers, divers and lures such as spinners, silver plated spoons and artificial worms.
As with all other forms of fishing, float fishing can be as simple or elaborate as you want to make it. Although some fishermen prefer to use more specialized lines, reels and bait depending on the fish they are after, the most basic float fishing gear consists of a fishing rod, reel, line, hook, sinker and bobber. Float fishing can be done from a shore, from a dock or from the back of the boat. It’s versatility and general ease make it a favorite form of fishing among both beginners and those with more experience.
With the different forms of fishing come different needs for fishing equipment. Fishers who are taking to the water for the first time may require fishing gear that is not as advanced as the gear used by professionals. Likewise, fishers who prefer to troll will require different fishing equipment than fly fishermen. EverythingFishingGear recognizes the differences between the various groups of fishermen which is why we offer a wide variety of fishing rods, reels, lines and lures to accommodate all your fishing needs.
